Villages and towns in the New Forest

The New Forest National Park lies to the west of Southampton and across the Solent from the Isle of Wight. The view from the Isle of Wight is a dense mass of green. Ferries from Lymington on the southern edges of the New Forest ply the waters across the Solent to the Isle of Wight holiday island. Westwards along the southern coast are the seaside towns on Milford-on-Sea, Barton-on-Sea, Highcliffe and Christchurch (in Dorset).

It takes very little time to enter the New Forest and hear the rattle cars make as they cross the cattle grids into the national park. A holiday in any of these coastal Hampshire towns allows for a joint seaside and country holiday.

Each of the towns and villages in the New Forest has its own special atmosphere and attractions. Everyone has their favourite village, their decision being based on a multitude of personal factors. It could be welcoming good food pub that draws people, the quaint cottages, the well-stocked delicatessen, the views and a million other reasons.
